SPC (Salmon Pond Club) “Pep Rally” Field Report

NYS Big Game Season (October 20th 2012)

 Hello to all:

This is a SPC “Pep Rally” for the 2012 season. It’s that time of the year again. Next week at this time the “Meat Pole” should be filled.

Uncle Dick Spring has his gear packed for the season, he might even have a few scratch-offs to check out. I’ll be binging a couple. “You never know”.

 Head Count

We hope for a good turn-out on opening weekend, I’ve heard that some guys are already in line at the gate to make sure they get a bunk : > )). Dave Capron did point out some needed reminders on the bunks.

 Sightings & Harvest

The herd could be of good size this year, there have been a lot of deer seen this summer.

 Meals

Matt Hoskins will be the cook this year for the 1st and 4th weekends. Remember to call Matt by Wednesday night to let him know your plans on being at camp. Matt needs to know the head count for meal planning.

 Poker Action

The poker games will be on Friday and Saturday nights, make sure you are early to get a good seat.

 Weather

Let’s all hope for good hunting weather this season. We do not need, as Bobby Guay has said, to hot, to cold, to windy, to sunny, to cloudy, to rainy, to snowy, to etc. etc.

New Tricks & Games Learned

I’m sure we will learn some new tricks and games again this year.

 News & Info

The new guest house is just about finished, it has been used quite a bit and it is comfortable.

We now have a stove that the oven can be regulated this will help our cooks.

Don’t forget to bring some gasoline for the generators, if you can.

Enjoy and Keep Safe, it’s OK to remind each other of SAFETY. I’ve attached our “Safety & Courtesy Reminders” for our review.

The poker games were on Friday and Saturday nights, “Lucky Uncle Dick” was the weekend winner.

Weather

Saturdays weather was good but Sunday had some drizzles.

New Tricks & Games Learned

Uncle Dick says that it’s important to make list to remind you to bring your lunches for days that the cook is not in camp, it saves you from having to go to long Lake to buy them.

He also pointed out that your boots work better when they are on the right feet.

Pictures.

No pictures as of yet.

News & Info

We did some old locker openings Friday morning. There are a few open lockers that can be used. Check with Dave Capron on what is available.

Somehow a mouse had found his way into the winter water supply hose and died. The smell was horrible. The hose has been remove and will be replaced next weekend.

Don’t forget to bring some gasoline for the generators, if you can.

Enjoy and Keep Safe, it’s OK to remind each other of SAFETY.
